We are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst/Developer to provide support to the Financial Planning Section of the Air & Missile Defense Sector in the areas of Sector and Mission Area financial planning, reporting, forecasting, data analytics, and dashboard development. The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst/Developer will collaborate with the Sector, Mission and Program Area teams to develop and implement advanced financial reporting solutions.

Duties:

  1. Data Analytics and Visualization - Work with stakeholders throughout the sector, including senior leadership, program management, project teams, and end users to identify requirements in support of business visualization objectives. Leverage data visualization tools and techniques to design, develop, and implement comprehensive automated solutions that support decision making and sector requirements. Maintain and enhance existing visualization solutions currently in use throughout the sector. (50%)
  2. Financial Analysis Reporting – Analyze financial data, conduct variance analysis, and prepare/review periodic status reports. Interface with Sector management, Mission Area executives and Laboratory Accounting and Finance representatives to answer inquiries, provide ad-hoc financial support and prepare what-if-scenario-analyses. (30%)
  3. Quality Assurance - Perform quality reviews and activities to find and resolve quality related issues, inconsistencies, and other anomalies to decrease risk, improve and validate data quality, accuracy, reliability, relevance, completeness and timeliness. Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. (20%)

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Hold a BS/BA in Business Administration, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems or a related field with financial planning and forecasting experience. 
  • At least 5+ years of applicable experience in financial management and data analytics.
  • At least 5+ years of experience with excel modeling and proficient with data analytic tools including Power Query, Power Pivot, and other advanced data query functions.
  • Experience with data visualization platform such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or DAX.
  • Highly-motivated self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills; able to work independently and with minimal supervision; strong interpersonal and problem-resolution skills. 
  • Able to prioritize/manage multiple assignments and remain responsive in a dynamic environment.
  • Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Advanced degree in business and/or statistics. 
  • Experience with government contracting indirect cost structures.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Cost Accounting Standards, and federal pricing activities and
  • Proficient with data analytic and visualization tools (Power BI and Denodo) and APL business systems: PEER, FPB, DW, and EBSS.   
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL, R, and Python
