Do you enjoy providing best-in-class customer service in a diverse classified environment?

Do you want to have a stake in an important and flourishing set of collaboration capabilities within APL? Are you interested in helping APL collaborate with our Mission Partners?

If so, we’re looking for someone like you to apply and join our Classified Video Teleconferencing (CVTC) team at APL!

We are seeking a Classified Video Teleconferencing (CVTC) Coordinator to manage and administer classified collaboration systems and facilities. You'll work with other CVTC coordinators to configure and support the CVTC equipment, including maintenance and adherence to security requirements (e.g., DOD STIGs). You'll assist APL staff and external Government sponsors daily to facilitate critical virtual and in-person classified meetings. Lastly, you'll collaborate with individuals across APL and our CVTC partners within the Department of Defense (DoD).

As a CVTC coordinator, you will...

  • Maintain the day-to-day operations of CVTC services using Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) in support of APL Programs and Sponsors in multiple classified facilities full time onsite on JHU/APL's main campus.
  • Coordinate and schedule CVTC meetings made by APL users and sponsors. Setup bridges to connect external sites as necessary. Serve as the primary APL coordinator to report service outages to the service providers and APL users. Manage the classified facilities used for CVTC services.
  • Conduct overall CVTC maintenance oversight, including managing the CVTC hardware, ensuring the proper configuration, updates/patches, and security settings are applied. Work with the Classified Operations Supervisor to refresh and repair equipment as needed. Engage with other IT Groups and external organizations to ensure smooth system operations.
  • Assist with the processing of DoD message traffic.

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a minimum of 3 year of experience working with Classified Video Teleconferencing systems or related technology.
  • Have experience in Information Technology or Computer Security fields with an emphasis on networking principles and configuration, and/or IT communications.
  • Have outstanding Customer Service and collaboration skills, including written and verbal communications.
  • Are self-motivated, able to work in a team environment, interface with all levels of staff, and work primarily from a classified facility.
  • Have a current DoD 8570 certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP), or will be required to obtain DoD 8570 certification within 6 months of employment required.
  • Have strong computer skills, with an emphasis on maximizing office automation through the use of tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Must be flexible to occasional ‘after hours’ calls to support programs and operations requiring the use of Classified video teleconferencing.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and the ability to ultimately obtain a Top Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To ensure the safety and well-being of the community, APL has established a policy requiring that all staff be vaccinated against COVID-19. All staff members must provide proof of full vaccination or have an approved medical or religious accommodation by their start date.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have familiarity with DoD cybersecurity procedures and policies, such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Have familiarity administering CVTC equipment using Cisco Telepresence Management Suite (TMS).
  • Have clearly defined experience working in classified environments such as SIPRNET.
  • Have experience in delivering customer service in a VTC environment, prior experience administering VTCs, and/or completed technical courses on VTCs.
