We are seeking a self-driven decision science researcher to help us develop cutting-edge techniques to automate courses of action and ensure continued operation of cyber-physical systems (CPS) in the presence of adversaries. You will contribute to the implementation of software systems that incorporate AI and heuristic search algorithms to automate decision making. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making ML work in realistic domains and have a keen interest in producing new technology to automate the recovery of CPS. The position represents a rare opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing team soon after launch, and help shape the technology and research as we grow. You will be playing a crucial role in developing the next generation of cyber orchestration technology, and get the opportunity to enable resilient CPS.


As a Decision Science Researcher...

  • Your primary responsibility will be leading research to advance the science and technology of decision-making under uncertainty by applying RL to real domains in order to deliver Cyber-AI solutions in a range of technology areas.
  • You will define the science direction for the team by innovating at the intersection of cyber and ML/AI domains, working towards long-term ambitious research goals, and identifying intermediate milestones.
  • You will work closely with researchers to test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software integrated with cyber-physical test beds and develop demonstrations.
  • Furthermore, you will develop and present proposals, briefings, and reports to technical specialists, collaborators, and sponsors in order to influence important decisions.
  • Not only that, but you will write research papers and participate in technical conferences.



You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a B.S./M.S. degree in machine learning, AI, computer science, applied mathematics, data science, statistics, or related technical fields with at least 5+ years of applicable experience.
  • Are experienced in developing models and simulations to support decision-making under uncertainty and designing debugging, and validating ML algorithms.
  • Have in depth familiarity with the literature and are skilled in prototype implementations based on research publications.
  • Are proficient in software engineering and programming in Python, MATLAB, Java, C/C++, and/or Julia.
  • Possess clear and concise written and verbal communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills to articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Have outstanding technical leadership skills to lead new research areas and demonstrated evidence of leading scientists or junior team members.
  • Have hands-on experience with deep learning tools such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  •  Possess a PhD in reinforcement learning or equivalent in education and experience with multiple published first-author papers at top-tier AI conferences/journals.
  •  Have cybersecurity or cyber-centric AI/ML experience.
  • Hold an active Secret level security clearance.
