We are seeking an inspection assistant to support the mechanical quality assurance and inspection of advanced prototypes and one-of-a kind systems. Utilizing work tracking systems, records management, and tool controls, this role will be a part of the larger mechanical inspection team ensuring quality specifications and processes comply with customer requirements.

Summary of tasks:

  • Perform initial assessment of parts received into mechanical inspection area (documentation package review).
  • Maintain the mechanical inspection gages and tools inventory.
  • Document product nonconformances in nonconforming material database.
  • Configuration management of inspection results (scanning reports, archiving records).
  • Communicate status of product to internal customers and material planners.

 

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of mechanical inspection gages/tools.
  • Demonstrated efficiency with MS Office applications Excel and Word.
  • Effectively being able to manage diverse and competing priorities.
  • Capacity to work independently with general guidance and proven initiative with eliciting tasking.
  • Adept at building effective relationships with staff in and outside of the group.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to summarize data and provide updates and information to supervisor and others in the group.
  • The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  •  2 years’ experience in performing inspections of machined products utilizing measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, hole and ring gages; familiarity with standard GD&T (general dimensioning & tolerancing) and drawing/blueprint reading.
