You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a BS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or relevant technical field and at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Have at least three years of systems engineering experience in the design, development or evaluation of a complex weapon system.
  • Have experience in a domain of specialty systems engineering (for example, maintainability, reliability, supportability).
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Have demonstrated ability to function in a team environment as a team lead (formally or informally) and as an individual technical contributor to solve complex problems.
  • Have demonstrated ability to effectively interact with sponsors, external organizations, management, and staff.
  • Have strong multi-tasking and engineering/analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
  • Are willing and able to travel periodically, including short duration visits to sponsor offices at the Washington Navy Yard and to supporting contractor sites, as well as occasional travel to other military bases across the country.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. 

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have an MS degree in Systems Engineering or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or relevant technical field.
  • Have experience with project or line management.
  • Have experience with Trident II Strategic Weapon System, Columbia Class SSBN Program, Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS), or Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Systems.
  • Have prior knowledge of Strategic Systems Program organization and processes, Air Force Nuclear Weapon Center organization and processes, and/or Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition experience.
  • Have understanding and/or experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering (DE).
