If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

We are seeking a Program Management Assistant (PMA)/Program Coordinator (PC) to help us execute the Force Projection Sector's (FPS) diverse portfolio of projects. You'll be joining a dedicated and enthusiastic team of business professionals that provides operational expertise across all phases of the project life cycle. As a member of our team, you will play an active role in our project teams by independently analyzing and addressing complex issues that require collaboration between programmatic, technical, and operations disciplines.

 

As a Program Coordinator you will... 

  • Coordinate and lead the preparation and maintenance of project management plans, including task plans, risk management plans, and contractual deliverables.
  • Monitor the progress of project execution against contractual deliverables, including working with Program/Project Managers (PM/PjMs) to proactively track upcoming deliverables and ensure deliverables are reviewed, submitted on time, and appropriately archived.
  • Provide data and business operations management and analysis for current and future programs, including the management and tracking of all subcontract, procurement and property activities for the program.
  • Assist program management and technical contributors with the protection of classified program information per applicable government requirements. Apply derivative classification markings to program documentation and provide other closed area support as required. Interpret organization-wide security guidance and serve as a security liaison between the programs and APL security groups.
  • Independently conduct research, evaluate potential options, and apply traditional and creative approaches to solve critical project challenges, providing sound operational recommendations to both internal and external program stakeholders
  • Lead small project teams and serve as a resource to others on various project team and within the group to accomplish project and organization common goals.

 

You meet our minimum qualifications if you...

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in a business, technical, or other relevant field or equivalent years of professional experience.
  • Have 5+ years of professional experience in the areas of project scheduling and/or project coordination.
  • Possess strong communication skills and can effectively communicate with all levels of management, military and government officials.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and can effectively prioritize competing efforts and respond independently to quick-turn around requests.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of government security requirements and guidelines.
  • Have a Final DOD Top Secret (TS) level security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS SCI.  If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.  Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

  • An Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • A Masters Degree in a business, technical or relevant field.
  • Familiarity with APL's business and security systems, including EBSS, RAT, and OpsLink.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project, JIRA or other project management scheduling tools.
