You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you . . . 

  • Have a Master's degree in Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Space Operations, Systems Enginering, or a related field.
  • Have at least 20 years of experience related to space operations, space systems engineering, or modeling, simulation and performance analysis of space-based sensors (EO/IR and/or radar) or constellations.
  • Have experience in briefing technical analysis to senior military leaders.
  • Are skilled in analyzing statistical estimation, quantitative evaluation, and/or physics-based modeling results.
  • Have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a technical team capable of responding to complex system and mission analysis requirements.
  • Are able to collaborate effectively will all levels of APL staff, external collaborators, and sponsors.
  • Are willing and able to occasionally travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado and to other sponsor sites.
  • Hold an active TS/SCI security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have any of the following . . . 

  • A PhD in Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience developing space capability requirements.
  • Experience working with data from operational space-based assets.
  • Have been in a formal leadership role leading a technical team building modeling and simuation systems and models to assess and analyze space-based systems and operations.
