Our newly formed Communications Department is seeking an experienced Video Production Intake Lead, within our Multimedia Design Group. This group of creatives provides technical staff, Lab leaders, and our Lab engagement and public relations strategists with high-quality multimedia products, ranging from branding elements to presentation materials, from websites to microsites, from explainer animations to promotional videos, and from conceptual to technical illustrations. This position will report directly to the Multimedia Design Group Supervisor.

As the Video Production Intake Lead at APL, you will...

  • Be responsible for assigning a producer, scriptwriter and/or lead animator to all incoming video requests, based off of the determined approach for the video.
  • Work closely with the prioritization steering team to understand the priority level of all incoming videos.
  • Understand skillsets of the video and design teams to effectively assign incoming video tasking.
  • Coordinate with freelancers when internal team staffing is at capacity.
  • Maintain a list of backlog video tasking.
  • Stay up to date on all active video projects to be able to provide updates as needed.
  • With the support of the Multimedia Design Group Supervisor, enforce proper video processes and procedures for the video team and stakeholders.
  • Participate in video pre-production kickoff meetings as needed.
     

 

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have…

  • A Bachelor’s degree in design, animation/video, storytelling, communications, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience to include demonstrated experience with video production, freelance coordination, graphic design, 3D modeling/animation, or video editing.
  • A strong understanding of video production processes and skillsets needed to execute incoming video requests.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Unquestionable integrity with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively interact with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to enforce pre-established video procedures.
  • A passion for delivering high quality products in a timely manner.

You’ll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you…

  • Have experience with Asana or ServiceNow.
  • Have previous experience working with NASA, members of the Intelligence community, or DoD.
  • Have previous experience as a Design Traffic Coordinator.
  • Have experience in client services or customer facing positions.
  • Have project management experience.
  • Have the ability to take on ad hoc video production tasks as needed.
